The text of the anti-Jewish lawLaw on the Defense of the Nation‘ passed in its entirety on December 26 has not been published. With only 49000 Jews here of a good class and holding no important government positions there was no Jewish problem. The law is said to be drastic in its terms but a loophole in its strict enforcement may be the fact that rules and regulations for the laws application drawn up by the Minister of the Interior must be approved by the Council of Ministers. I find the Bulgarian people as a whole apathetic about it and a little ashamed.
